Full Name: Cassidy Maureen Savage
Nicknames: Cassie, Cass
Age/Birthday: (27) August 12th, 1972
Alumni/House: Hufflepuff (1983 - 1990)
Wand: 11 1/2 inches, ivy, phoenix feather core.
Affiliation: The Order, although she currently still holds her Auror job at the Ministry. Above all else, she is affiliated with her friends.
Blood Status: Halfblood
Magic Status: Some magic. Cassidy began to lose magical power in November of 1999, and has been steadily declining ever since.
Patronus: Golden Retriever.
Boggart:
Sexual Orientation: Heterosexual.
Occupation: Auror for the Ministry of Magic.

Skills: As an Auror, she is trained in several fields including combat (magical and non), healing, stealth and tracking, and especially in identifying and defending against dark magic. She is most adept with healing and has a fairly decent photographic memory.

Strengths: Cassie is a people-person and thrives the most when she's around others. She is passionate about the things she does and her opinions. Her unwavering devotion makes her a very good ally and friend. In school, she excelled specifically in Charms, Potions, Herbology and Defense Against the Dark Arts.

Weaknesses: Clingy and over-emotional, she tends to rely on other people too much. While able to stand up on her own, she doesn't do nearly as well as when other people are near. Cassidy can also be too trustworthy and forgiving at times, mostly when it comes to her friends and the people she cares about. She struggled with Ancient Runes and Arithmancy in school.

How has your character been affected by the loss of magic? Cassidy nearly had a panic attack when she first noticed her magical abilities were becoming weak in November of 1999. She is afraid of what will happen to her when it's all gone, and as her older brother lost all of his magic in less than two weeks, she is concerned at how quickly hers will go. She knows she won't be able to keep her job at the Ministry once her magic is too weak to be useful, and is afraid of what this means for her future -- she has no idea what she'll do with her life without magic.

As a short woman standing at 5'4" and a fairly average build, she is often underestimated. Stranger than she looks thanks to her Auror training, Cassidy can hold her own in a fight and doesn't care if she has to get dirty doing it. She has shoulder length brown hair, and a rounded face with brown eyes. Her hair is usually kept down unless she's on the job, in which case she'll tie it up in a casual ponytail. Not one to wear a lot of make-up, she isn't interested in making herself look glamorous, sticking to just the basics. Cassie believes people can be simple and still beautiful. She wears the typical Auror robes at work, but outside of the office when she's off duty, Cassie likes to wear trousers, skirts, and comfortable t-shirts and sweatshirts. She enjoys dressing casual unless the occasion calls for dressing up, in which case she has a few dresses in her closet.

For someone who has the last name of Savage, people often assume the worst of Cassidy until they actually meet her. She is, actually, quite the opposite of savage -- Cassidy is generally sweet and friendly to almost anyone. She doesn't believe that the House someone was Sorted into classifies what kind of person they are -- she has met and made friends with some decent Slytherins, after all. Unfortunately, caution sometimes drives her to be suspicious of some people, even if she would prefer to give them the benefit of the doubt. Getting caught off guard for being too trusting is not what she went through three years of Auror training for.

Cassidy has a habit of wearing her heart on her sleeve. One can usually tell how she is feeling just by looking at the way she's acting or speaking. As such an emotional person, this is one of the aspects of her job she isn't very good at -- controlling her feelings out on the field. She is passionate about her job, but not because of the title or who it is she's working for; the part of her job she cares about is taking down dark wizards and those who would harm others. It is because of this that her loyalty to her friends stands above the Ministry and the Order. Cassie is good at following orders and is a "get the job done" kind of girl -- she dislikes the paperwork part of her job, preferring to do her work out on the field, working with other people.

She's a very social person and craves the company and closeness of others. When she's sad or depressed, just spending time with someone else can cheer her up. She's very open with herself and to others, and is not afraid to express her opinions, even if they differ from everyone else. Cassidy adores her friends so much, however, that she has a very hard time refusing them anything. Try as she might to protest, in the end she always gives in, and she's almost certain that everyone knows that she will. She likes to see them happy and, admittedly, usually doesn't mind whatever it is she's agreeing to that much.

She has a hard time dealing when people are angry or upset with her. As one so attached to other people, a friend not talking to her is simply awful. The same goes for when she is angry or upset with someone else; she knows she's supposed to be angry with the other person, but can't help wanted to talk to them anyway. She much prefers it when problems are discussed and dealt with right away, so there is no awkwardness between herself and anyone.

Cassidy enjoys her fair share of mischief and misbehaving, but she knows when to be serious and get down to business. She is not irresponsible when it comes to her duties; after all, most of the time lives are on the line - of course, she is prone to make mistakes, just like everyone else. She has bravery in her that's almost worthy of a Gryffindor, but she is only brave when it's necessary, as she does not usually go looking for dangerous trouble (innocent trouble, on the other hand, is a different story entirely).

& Jared Savage (father; muggle): Mechanic. He inherited the shop from his father, who inherited it from his father, and so on. He had hoped that both of his children would be interested in taking over the shop, but Cassidy had ideas of her own. Still, he's daddy's little girl and enjoys watching sports with her father and older brother.
& Naomi Savage née Thompson (mother; halfblood): Gryffindor, retired Auror. Some magic. Cassie always got along better with her father than her mother, but she loves her dearly and was inspired to be like her as she grew older, determined to become an Auror.
& Sebastian Savage (brother; halfblood): Ravenclaw. No magic. Cassidy's older brother by three years works with their father as a mechanic, and it's a good thing he decided on that, too -- Sebastian was one of the unfortunate that lost all of their magic in less than two weeks.

IN PROGRESS.

CHILDHOOD - HOGWARTS

Cassidy Maureen Savage was born into a very loving home and family, the second child born to her parents, Jared and Naomi. Her older brother, Sebastian, was three years old by the time she came into the world. She got along well with Sebastian, as much as siblings can, and due to his influence was quite a tomboy as a child. She enjoyed watching sports on the telly with her father and brother, and liked to sit in the garage with her father while he worked -- although, no matter how much he tried, Cassie's father was never able to really get her interested in working with cars.

As with many children born with magical abilities, going away to Hogwarts for school was a very important time in her life. She had listened with rapt attention to her mother tell her stories of her school days, and with jealousy as her brother talked about all the things he's done and seen during his three years there. When it was Cassidy's turn for Hogwarts, she hoped desperately to be sorted into Ravenclaw with her brother, or at least to Gryffindor where her mother had been, but it was not to be; she was sorted into Hufflepuff instead. Although upset that she was being separated from her brother, she found most of the other kids on Hufflepuff were friendly enough so she didn't feel like an outcast. She made friends with many of them quickly, especially with the girls she shared a room with.

While some may have liked their privacy, Cassie loved sharing a room with other people -- it felt like a sleep over every night, and it was always so much fun. She found that she quite enjoyed her classes as well and did particularly well in Charms and Potions. There was just something about mixing up ingredients and working with her hands rather than her wand that she found enjoyable. School went by quickly for her -- she was never ambitious enough to become a Prefect or Head Girl, but Cassie was never one for leadership; she prefers to be a follower, and is perfectly happy that way. Still, she worked hard and received good grades in most of her classes.

Her mother's talk about her Auror days were enough to inspire Cassie to work toward the same goal. Half of her reasoning may have been that she felt it was expected of her, but seeing the hatred toward halfbloods and muggle borns that many dark wizards had, she wanted a job that would allow her to be strong and protect these people. After all, she is a halfblood herself.

ADULTHOOD - PRESENT

Cassidy went right into starting her three long years of training to become an Auror after leaving Hogwarts. Despite doing so well in school, Auror training was not as easy as she hoped it would be. Determined, and far to stubborn to throw in the towel, she had to work extra hard to keep up with the other trainees. She was hesitant and uncomfortable with practicing dangerous spells against other people, but it was something she had to get used to. Cassidy had no difficulty practicing spells against dummies and fake targets. It wasn't that she was afraid of casting harmful spells against people, but rather, she didn't want to hurt her friends and co-workers -- when it comes down to fighting dark wizards, she doesn't hold herself back.

By her second and third year of training, although she didn't like it, Cassie has grown a lot more comfortable during training dueling sessions. She still tends to go easy on people and only shows her real potential with fake targets. Her determination and ability to prove herself when it actually matters was enough to get her through training, and soon enough she became a full fledged Auror. The feeling of accomplishment was not to last, for it wasn't long that rumours that the Dark Lord Voldemort had risen again. A war was going to begin, one the Minister of Magic was desperately trying to ignore. Cassie wasn't sure what to believe; deep down, she felt it was true, but why would the Ministry try to deny it? There was no reason to lie. A lie like that could put people in danger.

But the truth was realized that Voldemort had indeed returned, and it was then that the Minister of Magic was sacked, being replaced by Rufus Scrimgeour. At last there was a Minister who was going to take action and steps to fight back against Voldemort and the Death Eaters, but Rufus only seemed better than Fudge had been. In reality, although Rufus accepted Voldemort was back, he seemed more concerned about the public's view on the Ministry than anything else, frevently trying to get Harry Potter to support the Ministry, and arresting innocent people to make it seem as if the Ministry was making progress. Cassie was beginning to feel dissapointed in the direction the Ministry was going, but she stuck with the Aurors reguardless, and it was during this time that she, along with Aurors Tonks, Proudfoot, and Dawlish, were assigned to guard Hogwarts.

The four Aurors were faced with one of the most terrible failures in their lives -- despite their guard, Death Eaters managed to sneak into Hogwarts, and it was because of this that Albus Dumbledore -- perhaps one of the greatest wizards to have ever lived -- was killed. Cassidy felt sick with grief and guilt over what had happened that night. They were supposed to be guarding a school; so many children could have been killed that night!
